The Atlantis Dunes near Cape Town are located within the Witzands Aquifer Nature Reserve, which covers 500 hectares of the City of Cape Town. This reserve serves as a protected area where a variety of activities take place amidst the natural landscapes, including the expansive white sand dunes that can reach heights of up to 50 meters.

Atlantis Dunes – located within the Witzands Aquifer Nature Reserve.
Wildlife – in the Reserve you will find beautiful white sand dunes and a wealth of wildlife, such as caracals, little grey mongooses, Cape dune mole rats, steenbok, and Cape grysbok.
Be Comfortable – wear comfortable clothes, and bring along a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, closed shoes (for quadbiking), an additional pair of socks (for sandboarding), and refreshments.
Dune Thrasher – thrill rides in a custom built V8 450hp sandrail with bypass air suspension – seating for 1 driver and 4 passengers.
Walk-ins to the Nature Reserve are FREE.
Quadbike Tours – not really weather dependant and can be done 7 days a week.
Sandboarding – a weather dependant activity – does not take place in wet conditions or very high winds.
NOTE: you may have to pay a separate Reserve Entrance fee depending on the activity you choose.
HINT: 16:00 is the best time for an Extreme 4×4 Drive in the dunes.
