Ilala Palm Park is a caravan park and camping site situated on a generously sized 35-hectare property, located more or less 6 km along Jozini Road, West of Mbazwana – meaning “small axe” in Zulu. The property consists mainly of grassland and sand forest, making it ideally suited to hundreds of bird species (including ground birds, water fowl and guest appearances by migratory species) with its mild winter climate and close proximity to the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Each of the six campsites have their own private ablutions, scullery, 220 V electricity point, braai and hot water wash-up facility. The grassy campsites vary in size and most have sufficient shade. Relax in the swimming pool when the birds have their siesta or just splash off the summer heat.

Ilala Palm Park is in the heart of adventure territory within a close proximity to excellent dive spots (Sodwana) and both freshwater fishing – including tiger fish at Jozini Dam – and salt water fishing – estuary, surf and deep sea at renown locations such as Kosi Bay, St. Lucia Estuary, Cape Vidal and Mapelane. The park is also located close to various wildlife reserves (including ‘Big 5’!).
