Klipriviersweg Nature Reserve is a 680ha unspoilt piece of land located south of Johannesburg, and is the largest proclaimed nature reserve in the Johannesburg Metropolitan area. The Reserve is well stocked with fauna and flora, indigenous plants and trees. The Reserve is open to the public from sunrise to sunset, seven days a week, and there is no entrance fee.
Hiking in the Klipriviersweg Nature Reserve is the perfect way for outdoor enthusiasts to spend this Father’s Day, Sunday, 16 June 2013. The whole family can enjoy the scenic hiking trails which vary in degree of difficulty and distance, with flat areas for casual walking, and steeper, hilly areas for the more fit hiker. The Reserve offers about 20 km of trails, which are clearly marked, and the highest point is 1790 meters with a view of the Johannesburg skyline to the North.
