Porcupine Hills Self Catering Accommodation. A choice of five different accommodation offerings between the Botrivier and the Kloof River, near Villiersdorp. Porcupine Hills is a quiet, tranquil place, about 100km from Cape Town. The underlying farm “Diepklowe” is a Private Nature Reserve within the van der Stel Cluster (four neighbouring conservation farms). It is a core member of the Groenlandberg Conservancy. There are rare and endangered plant species endemic to the farm, and an extraordinary birdlife crowned by a pair of Verreaux eagles.
Porcupine Hills offers self-catering guest accommodation and boutique olive oil. The Rondawel, Farm House and Eyrie face the mountain Eagle’s Rock. The River Cottages offer a peaceful setting further up the valley 1km from the entrance, in the shade of a poplar forest with the running water of the Kloof River passing by, with easy access to the dam. The farm is 220 hectares with river walks, swims, hikes and mountain bike rides.

The largest accommodation option offers a truly comfortable, luxurious and stylish farmhouse stay.

Sleeps Six in three en-suite bedrooms. Two bedrooms have queen size beds and the main bedroom has the option of either a king-size bed or two single beds.
Each bedroom opens onto a vine-covered veranda, with two having hot outdoor showers.

Rondawel:
Situated on the banks of the Bot River, the Rondawel offers direct access to the river. A two bedroom cottage with the rondawel functioning as a large living space with a fully-equipped kitchen area. There is a deck area at the back overlooking the river with an outdoor bathtub under the trees.

River Cottages:
CARACAL, DASSIE AND MONGOOSE
The River Cottage group is situated further up the valley about 1km from the entrance, next to the Kloof River. It is surrounded by lush trees and a hillside and is a short walk away from the dam (for wonderful swimming and picnicing) and the Secret Forest, as well as longer walks up to the top of the surrounding hills for spectacular views and sunsets. The privacy and tranquillity of this accommodation is unparalleled, especially as there is no cellphone reception, wi-fi or television. With the option of combining Caracal Cottage with either Mongoose and/or Dassie Chalets, it is suitable for both couples and families.
Activities:
Hiking: a number of jeep tracks and paths
Biking: some shorter 4×4 tracks around the farm suitable for mountain bikers
Swimming: beautiful pools at the cottages, rock pools in the Bot & Kloof rivers, a dam with clear, clean water & floating jetty.
