Lake Kariba is a large man-made reservoir located on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe in Southern Africa. It was formed by the construction of the Kariba Dam across the Zambezi River, which was completed in 1959. With a surface area of approximately 5,580 square kilometers (2,150 square miles), it is one of the world’s largest artificial lakes by volume.
